Used HOWO Truck Inspection Checklist Before Buying
Check vehicle identity, engine evidence, chassis, tyres and dump-body operation before agreeing on a used-truck purchase.

Identify the exact truck being offered
Ask for the VIN or chassis identification, model plate, year, engine model and current odometer reading. Request recent photographs of the same vehicle from all sides, including the cab, engine bay, chassis and tyres. A catalogue photograph helps you recognise a model; it does not establish the condition of a particular used truck. Keep the vehicle reference on the quotation and inspection record.
Request running evidence and a competent inspection
Ask for a cold-start video, dashboard readings and available service or repair records. Have a qualified inspector check engine leaks, cooling, braking, steering, transmission operation and any fault indications. Video supports a discussion but cannot replace a physical inspection or a properly conducted road test. The inspector should document the test conditions and separate observed defects from items that could not be checked.
Look beyond fresh paint
Include chassis damage or repairs, suspension, tyre condition and the spare wheel in the report. For a dump truck, include the body, hinges, hydraulic equipment and evidence of leaks. Any operating test must be carried out by qualified personnel in a controlled area. Ask which parts were replaced or refurbished and retain supporting records. Cosmetic preparation and mechanical repair are different items and should be described separately.
Agree on the condition before shipment
List accepted defects, agreed repairs, included accessories and any remaining checks in writing. Confirm that the truck identified in the inspection is the truck prepared for delivery, and request final photos after the agreed work. Your enquiry can include this checklist alongside the model, quantity and destination. Ask your local adviser to check whether the specific vehicle is eligible for import and registration before committing to shipment.
